About Me

Welcome to my website! I'm Amy Thackeray, a freelance costume maker and graduate from the Arts University in Bournemouth.

Since studying BA (Hons) Costume with Performance Design, I have been working full time, moved to London, and continued to develop my skills wherever possible. I have worked on various projects since university including: Valerio Tarricone's MA music video, two spacesuits for an independent client, Dianne Cutlack's Driving to David as well as working full time for Wimbledon Sewing Machine Co. I have taken classes in stumpwork embroidery, broiderie anglaise, limerick lace and lace applique as well as needle felting which is something I now enjoy as a hobby.

I have a keen eye for detail, an enthusiasm for learning new skills and also patience for repetitive tasks. I particularly enjoy projects that feature within period, sci-fi or fantasy genres.

I work full time Tuesday- Saturday but utilise Sunday- Monday for skill development whilst persuing a costume making career within an industrial setting.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if my work interests you.
